Situated in the tropics, the one thing India is famous for, apart from spicy food of course, is summers. Hot and humid, it paints quite a tiring picture. Sweaty and sunny, this season can be tricky, in terms of what to wear. So, whether it is going to office, or shopping, resort, or maybe for a walk on the beach whether it is for brides to be or the maid of honor.

Since you’ll probably be in the hot sun all day, keeping cool will be your main priority. To beat the summer blues, we’ve come up with a few must-haves that are perfect for any tropical climate. Here I have a list of colors to flaunt this summer, in style and feel comfortable.

Why a list? Because I love lists, being a compulsive planner. What is unique about this list? It not just lists a few colors, like all boring guides, it gives you color combinations, coordinates to grab, color blocking and shade on shade to beat the summer blues.

1. Grey and peach

A sorbet shade and equally sophisticated. It is muted and exudes charm in oodles. The colors seem like total opposites — peach and grey but, creates outfits that are both super chic and perfectly balanced.  Peach gives off a feminine vibe and when combined with the neutral, yet vigorous grey, creates outfits that are both super chic and perfectly balanced. Wear this color combination as a saree or relaxed parallels and shirt. This could make for a layered dress or high low asymmetrical pieces. Go paint the town peach!

2. Mustard and White/Brown

Warm yellow or to be more precise mustard, reminds you of the sunshine, am I right? Tone it well with subtle white or brown. This can be followed for shirts and culottes, loose bohemian skirts, anarkalis. Don’t go for all mustard choose a print that contrasts this colour. Prints are very much in trend, for suits you can pair it with printed dupatta that goes with the look. Also, you can try on striped brown pants with mustard top which will give you a chic look. Mustard looks best for jumper dress styles, classic tees and on-trend balloon sleeves.

3. Purple and Dusty rose

What can I say about a classic? Purple or ultra violet is the Pantone color of 2018. Pantone is the American Company dealing in all things color for varied industries. So, when they say purple, why ever not? This shade is an ode to unicorns, dreamy nights, cupcakes, and sprinkles. It can be a shocking bubblegum to a moody fairy magical setting. Wear this for your evening gowns, crop top and skirt combos.

4. Cream and Green

Another pantone shades? Yes, cause the summer list of shades are super impressive and totally adaptable in all occasions and outfits. Set this off with a meek cream. Try it for your western ensembles like jumpsuits, palazzos, and crop tops. You can also try cream with green for ethnic wear like salwars, patialas, shararas, ghagras, even sarees. Channel the inner goddess, darlings.
